31 Day Challenge Day 25

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Today is inspired by fashion. I am not really into fashion too much but I know a little about it, I am not going to say I am good with it though. I saw a couple of people doing plaid nails and a tutorial on youtube with Burberry nails. I kind of went off of that.

I used OPI's A-Taupe The Space Needle. Then I added stripes of white and black acrylic paint. Finally I added striped of Forever Young by Essie.

Very simple but kind of cute. I might try this again when the challenge is done, I see it as being a hit.

Enjoy yourself

31 Day Challenge Day 19

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I changed my mind this is by far my favorite post out of this challenge. I have never tried Galaxy nails before today and I am going to tell you that I absolutely love it. I like how it just comes together. I actually got a lot of compliments today on my nails, people couldn't believe that I actually did this myself.

I used a CRAP ton of nail polishes for this.

Base color Downtown Diva by Ulta topped with Sally Hansens Pale Pink Opal which gave it a blue pink duochrome.
Then I sponged You Belong To Me by Essence as my nebula, then on the edges I used Orly's Galaxy Girl.
I used LA Colors Art Deco in white for the stars. Then for my shooting star I used Sally Hansen's Nail Prisms in Diamond which is holographic so it added something different to the table.

That's it. I hope you liked it if you did show your support by following me :)

31 Day Challenge Day 18

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I haven't ever done half moon's before today, I don't really like how mine came out but I am sure with a little bit of practice I could make mine look better. I should get some of those paper hole supports sticker things as a guide, I am sure I can find those at the dollar store.

I had Sally Hansen's Eel Skin still sitting out from when I did my tribal nails so I just used that as my base color this time. Then I went in with China Glaze's Skyscraper. Yeah a glitter which is a cool mix. I like how the glitter makes the grey look like it is in the background. I was actually going to do little crystals along the smile of the half moon so it looked a little cleaner but I didn't have a good color match for the glitter. I thought about light blue crystals.

I hope you like this, if you do show your support by following :)

31 Day Challenge Day 17

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I have a lot of glitters to chose from so that made today very easy for me. I actually used multiple nail polishes for today. Glitter is a really nice way to spice up any nail look.

For the base color I used my new Orly Rock Solid which has holographic glitter in it. Then I added a layer of Sally's Girl Way 2 Disco which is a duo chrome type glitter that shines blue, purple, and green (the way to find the colors of these polishes is to go onto Sallys Beauty website and type the numbers that come with the color into the search bar). Then I added a layer of China Glaze's Fairy Dust, I have to thin this polish almost every time I use it I am sure I am not the only one. China Glaze nail polishes become thick very quick. Finally I added a layer of INM Northern Lights (shaken) which is similar to Fairy Dust so I really didn't need this step but I wanted so much glitter.

Ugh this is going to be a pain in the ass to take off but really worth it. See the blurred picture for the sparkle.

If you like this be sure to show your support by following me.

31 Day Challenge Day 16

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I actually had to look at other people's Tribal Nails for today because I was seriously stumped on what to do. While I love the multiple primary color designs I also liked the duo color designs which is why mine only had three colors.

I kind of just did a lot of symmetric shapes. Triangles and lines and dots. I used China Glaze's For Audrey and Sally Hansen's Eel Skin and black acrylic paint. I used an Artist Loft Brush in Round Watercolor 5/0.

I didn't do the same design on every finger because that would be a little boring in my eyes. My favorites would be my pinkie and my thumb.

I hope you liked it, if you did show your support by following me ;)

Halloween Challenge Monday

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Welcome to Mummy Monday. I used the same technique that I did for last Monday and did it again on instead of using the tip of the brush I used a sponge. I also added a bit of red which is totally not like most mummies out there.

I used OPI's Uh-oh Roll Down The Window and French Quarter For Your Thoughts and Essies Forever Young. Some Black and White Acrylic Paint.

Do you have Halloween posts?

Enjoy yourself

Halloween Challenge Monday

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Today is the start of my Halloween themed nail art challenge. This is a great way to experiment with nail art.
Since today is Monday I have to do a post with M. I have really been into military and war type games, Modern Warfare 2 in particular. I am not sure what it is about it but I can't stop playing it. I  have also made a lot of good friends there as well.

M is for Military. Now you can change the colors a tad, I am not sure how it would look if you did neon colors though. LOL. The colors I used were all from OPI.

Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window
A-Taupe The Space Needle
French Quarter For Your Thoughts

At First I wanted to sponge the design on but I found that if you use the tip of the brush and just do different dots it will turn out something similar to this.

Beginning of Halloween Posts

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I was debating if I wanted to do 13 days of Halloween or a full month, I guess it is a full month. I am not sure I will post everyday but I will be sure to post what I do when I do it.

Today I wanted to test the new crackles that I got from SamsBeauty. See my last post for details, but I won them.

I used Sinful Colors Secret Admire, a black polish with grey silver glitter.
2012 Crackle in Innocence which is a white cream crackle.

30 Untrieds Day 26

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Today was a 3 polish type of day... We will see if I get through all of my untrieds.  If not I will post a list of polish I haven't tried yet on my closing of 30 Untrieds which I plan on posting on the 30th of this month... 4 more days.

OPI's A-Taupe The Space Needle is a brown grey-ish color. Goes on opaque, at least for me. It also has those veins that the other OPI's that I have recently been sent. I don't know if it is because they are directly from the company or if their formula is different compared to the other polishes I have. It doesn't effect how the nail polish goes on just looks odd.

OPI Honk If You Love OPI is an almost eggplant purple. I had to apply two coats on my ring finger. I chose this color because it is in the same family as ATSN.  Again same as the other one.

You can find those two nail polishes in various locations that sells OPI, for around $8.50 but can some times be found on sale.

Lastly is Wet N' Wild's Tangled in My Web which is a black glitter. Very sparse I may say, you really have to layer it on to get the glitter on. Or just pat the side of the brush on your nail. This polish is apart of their On The Prowl Collection which is out for Halloween. Can be found at multiple drugstores for around $2.

Sorry for being so late tonight.... I hate posting later. I have been napping all day because I think I am coming down with a cold.

Enjoy yourself

30 Untrieds Day 23

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Notice anything different today? I have shorter nails. I am not sure I like it, I miss my long nails. I cut about half of the nail growth off. I am still not sure if I like them this short. But they are just nails and they will grow back.

French Quarter for Your Thoughts is also from OPI's Touring America collection. FQFYT is a creamy grey color. Again my bottle is different than what you will find in the stores. It has weird veining and the sticker is different. This is two coats of the polish, let me tell you something it is lighter in the bottle and once on it is a little darker.  I am not too keen on the veining that happens in these bottles.

Normally I wouldn't do two colors from the same brand within two days but this collection is is so gorgeous. I love them all so much.

OPI can be found at various stores and is usually around $8.50 but it can be found on sale sometimes. I look in the recycle bin at Fred Meyers because I have found 6 nail polishes if not more for under $4 which is half of the regular price.

While shopping for food today I found the new On The Prowl collection by Wet N' Wild and I caved and got 4 of the glitters. They were buy one get one 50% off. So $3 for 2  nail polishes is very good.

Enjoy yourself

30 Untrieds Day 22

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
With my recent nail mail I figured why not add a few shades that were sent to me into the mix. I am truly grateful for the nail polish that has been sent to me. I won a contest and got sent 6 OPI nail polishes from the new Touring America Collection.

Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window is a murky green, similar to army green only a grey color. It is a cream finish, my favorite. My bottle looks so weird. I know it isn't from the store that is for sure, I think it was supposed to be PR or sent from the company. For one the tag on the bottom is black, the letters are bigger, and there is no peel here. I for one like that! Inside the bottle is veining like it isn't mixed up, I made sure to roll it around and try to mix it up. On the brush the color comes out great so it is just the bottle which I am perfectly fine with.

What is up with the name? I don't get it... It could either mean one of two things, Both of which are disgusting. Who knows what was going on with OPI this time. I guess it makes sense, after all it is a Touring America LOL.

This is two coats without a top coat. I feel like an old record but with these 30 Untrieds I feel like I don't need a top coat. The polish dries within a few minutes which I love about OPI. That and their brushes are amazing, I love the flatness, it fits my nails so well.

OPI can be found at Salon Supply stores, Trade Secrets, Ulta, and online. The price for these retail for $8.50 but you can sometimes find them on sale, if you do I suggest buying them cheaper. I also would check clearance bins because I have found OPI for $3-$5 which is a steal. If you have a Fred Meyer near you look there, that is where I get mine.

This polish was sent to me by Danielle from Musings From Manhattan

30 Untrieds Day 8

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I love this combination so far. Little stars is just what I needed today, lol. I feel kind of like I have a cold or something. Maybe this will show through my mani today or maybe no one will know how crummy I feel.

Today I tried something that I have tried before but didn't successfully have it work, a scotch tap mani. I have always used plastic tape and what I found works better is medical tape or painters tap. I only have one hole puncher which is a star shape. I used to use it to make jewelry hangers for my mom because she makes jewelry, I did for a little too but I stopped. I may start again, It was a good way to make money.
Sally Hansen Eel Skin came out with the Spring collection with Barracuda and many other colors, (I was about to get Barracuda but I had recently bought a sky blue color from Essence. If you know if Barracuda and Essence's You Belong To Me are dupes please tell me.) Eel Skin is a light grey, lighter than Pure Ice's Kiss Me Here. The brush is really fat which I love because it fits my nails just perfectly, I wish all nail polishes were made with this flat styled brush, Essie and China Glaze You hear me??? This polish was going for $6-$8 but I got mine on sale for $5. This polish is going to be great for fall.
Color Club no name silver :(. I wish I knew the names of this set that I got at Ross. It came with a Silver, A Grey with purple sparkles, a light pink, and a light purple. The set was $3. I wish Color Club would give the names of the colors that are in a set. Oh well this is a very pretty silver.
I did stars on 4 out of 5 of my fingers, on my pinkie I just left it silver. I think it added something interesting to the manicure, I was thinking about doing a black crackle over the silver to see how it would look.
