31 Day Challenge Day 19

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I changed my mind this is by far my favorite post out of this challenge. I have never tried Galaxy nails before today and I am going to tell you that I absolutely love it. I like how it just comes together. I actually got a lot of compliments today on my nails, people couldn't believe that I actually did this myself.

I used a CRAP ton of nail polishes for this.

Base color Downtown Diva by Ulta topped with Sally Hansens Pale Pink Opal which gave it a blue pink duochrome.
Then I sponged You Belong To Me by Essence as my nebula, then on the edges I used Orly's Galaxy Girl.
I used LA Colors Art Deco in white for the stars. Then for my shooting star I used Sally Hansen's Nail Prisms in Diamond which is holographic so it added something different to the table.

That's it. I hope you liked it if you did show your support by following me :)

Enjoy yourself

31 Day Challenge Day 18

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I haven't ever done half moon's before today, I don't really like how mine came out but I am sure with a little bit of practice I could make mine look better. I should get some of those paper hole supports sticker things as a guide, I am sure I can find those at the dollar store.

I had Sally Hansen's Eel Skin still sitting out from when I did my tribal nails so I just used that as my base color this time. Then I went in with China Glaze's Skyscraper. Yeah a glitter which is a cool mix. I like how the glitter makes the grey look like it is in the background. I was actually going to do little crystals along the smile of the half moon so it looked a little cleaner but I didn't have a good color match for the glitter. I thought about light blue crystals.

I hope you like this, if you do show your support by following :)

Enjoy yourself

31 Day Challenge Day 8

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I tried a different attempt to Metallic nails today. I am not sure if it meant full blown shiny out there almost metal metallic nails. I settled. Today I have two different nail polishes.
I love this challenge because I am using some nail polishes that I never thought that I would get around to using, which is a major plus in my book.

I first applied two coats of Sally Hansen Nail Prisms (holo) in Diamond which is a silver, similar to OMG by China Glaze. When I first got this polish it looked more scattered than a linear holo polish so I used it in two different frankens. I didn't realize this polish is REALLY hard to find and semi expensive, if I would have known I would have kept it all as one polish. I actually purchased this polish in a set of two at the dollar store, it came with a Diamond Strength in Forever which is a pink.

Then I applied a layer of China Glaze Tarnished Gold which is a foil-y gold. It is amazing! I love that it is such a shimmering gold color. This was actually one of my first crackle nail polish, now I have 11 crackles. I was thinking about purchasing a few more because I don't have a green or silver.

My picture doesn't do this combo justice.

Well that's it for today I hope you liked. See you all tomorrow.

Enjoy yourself

30 Untrieds Day 21 Pink Wednesday

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
If you put your mind to do something, do it. You will never be more proud of yourself. I made a pact with myself that I would continue with the Pink Wednesday and for that matter, the 30 Untrieds. If you asked me a few years ago if I would be blogging about nails I would have told you no and I wouldn't have been very pretty about it. See all my life I have been the tom boy, I had nothing to do with girly stuff. I am not sure what changed my mind but one day I stopped biting my nails, started wearing makeup, and putting girly clothes on. It has made a big difference in my life. Am I upset about my past... No because without that I wouldn't be the girl sitting here blogging about her nail polish, her passion.
As for today I thought that this would be a fitting match since the summer is turning to fall. Oh I can't wait. I dread Winter, Love Spring and Fall, and have a love hate relationship with Summer.

Sally Hansen Pink Boa is a very bright frosty pink with a blue sheen to it. It is opaque in two coats. You can see the nail line just a tiny bit in the sun which I don't mind because it is only in the sun.  These polishes can be found anywhere for around $1.75-$2.50.

Revlon Facets Of Fuchsia is a black based polish with bright pink glitters. Small round glitter and larger hexagonal glitter. I would say for the black to be 100% opaque I would do 2 coats. I found this polish at Target for $3.74 I wanted to get its sisters as well, maybe I will go back before the end of the fall and get the other two. I have a $1 off coupon that I can use. Maybe I will be able to find it at WalMart. I put this at the tips of my nails and sponged it up to about 35% of my nail and then I started picking the hex glitters out of the polish and randomly placed them everywhere.

Sally Hansen Pink-y Ring was apart of the spring/summer collection. It is a clear based nail polish with the same little round, bright pink glitters that are found in Revlon's Facets Of Fuchsia. If I ever want more glitter to FOF I will add this over the top. This time it is just to blend all of the polishes together. Same as above these polishes are found most places and the same price as stated before.

Phew that is a lot of talking, thanks for reading.
Enjoy yourself

30 Untrieds Day 12

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I had bought a lot of polish back in December almost all of which were nameless, there was only 10 or so, I didn't know the state of the polish all I knew was it was very cheap. $10 for brands like Sally Hansen, Wet N' Wild, and others.

This Sally Hansen polish was one of the ones without a name. It is a gorgeous red color with a slight golden shimmer to it. Perfectly opaque in two coats, dries within a few minutes. I believe this polish goes for $2.50 at a lot of drugstores. The shimmers really don't transfer to the nail at all which is really weird.

I feel so drained today and I am sorry for that so not much to talk about with this polish today, I wish :(

Enjoy yourself

30 Untrieds Day 8

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I love this combination so far. Little stars is just what I needed today, lol. I feel kind of like I have a cold or something. Maybe this will show through my mani today or maybe no one will know how crummy I feel.

Today I tried something that I have tried before but didn't successfully have it work, a scotch tap mani. I have always used plastic tape and what I found works better is medical tape or painters tap. I only have one hole puncher which is a star shape. I used to use it to make jewelry hangers for my mom because she makes jewelry, I did for a little too but I stopped. I may start again, It was a good way to make money.
Sally Hansen Eel Skin came out with the Spring collection with Barracuda and many other colors, (I was about to get Barracuda but I had recently bought a sky blue color from Essence. If you know if Barracuda and Essence's You Belong To Me are dupes please tell me.) Eel Skin is a light grey, lighter than Pure Ice's Kiss Me Here. The brush is really fat which I love because it fits my nails just perfectly, I wish all nail polishes were made with this flat styled brush, Essie and China Glaze You hear me??? This polish was going for $6-$8 but I got mine on sale for $5. This polish is going to be great for fall.
Color Club no name silver :(. I wish I knew the names of this set that I got at Ross. It came with a Silver, A Grey with purple sparkles, a light pink, and a light purple. The set was $3. I wish Color Club would give the names of the colors that are in a set. Oh well this is a very pretty silver.
I did stars on 4 out of 5 of my fingers, on my pinkie I just left it silver. I think it added something interesting to the manicure, I was thinking about doing a black crackle over the silver to see how it would look.
Enjoy yourself

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Rockstar Pink

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Rockstar Pink Bottle.
Sadly this isn't my nail polish but it will be mine some day. This is a jam packed pink based glitter. Under this I actually am wearing China Glaze Purple Panic (more of a pink if you ask me and again not mine) Without the base I think you could see patches of my nail through the glitter.
Left hand under direct sunlight.

Right hand under direct sunlight.

I noticed that the polish is very thick like most glitters get. The application is a little harder since it is thick. When I buy this nail polish I will be adding a few drops of Nail Polish Thinner. This polish takes a longer time to dry. I completely messed up my right thumb nail because it wasn't dry and I started to write this review (I always write my reviews out on paper first, I find it is easier that way).
Left hand with bottle. Blurred to see sparkle.

I am pretty sure this nail polish is around $2.49 here in the states and maybe a bit more outside. I have found this at pretty much any place I have looked. Best bet would be WalMart and Target. I think I have heard something were Sally Hansen had a $1 off coupon and then someone else said that there was another   $1 off coupon so it would be like getting your polish for $.49, a steal in my eyes.

Enjoy yourself
