31 Day Challenge Day 24

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
The movie that I based my mani off of today is Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, which I could have copped out and did it for yesterday and today because it is both a book and a movie.

Very different if I may say. There are a lot of vibrant colors in this movie because of the content of the movie. I used a neon orange and yellow along with a bright red.

Color Club Get Your Lem-On, OPI Atomic Orange, and Essie Forever Young.

That's really it for today. I don't really like how it turned out. A little messy if you ask me but I guess it just adds to the character of the movie.

Enjoy yourself

31 Day Challenge Day 12

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I was trying to go for a modern type of stripes with very earthy and fall colors for today. I think I nailed it. It kind of reminds me of a scarf or something. Very modern and girly but kind of sophisticated. HAHA what a weird way of talking about nails.

I used several polishes for today.
My base is Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window By OPI
Darker purple stripes are Honk If You Love OPI By OPI
Lighter purple stripes are Lavender Highlight By Finger Paints
Yellow is a Art Deco by LA Colors which is just called Yellow.

I am really liking how this came out maybe I should do some plaid or Burberry nails.

I hope you liked it, thanks for following and reading.

Enjoy yourself

31 Day Challenge Day 9

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,

This is probably the worst thing I have ever seen... I just said screw it and I took the picture of the work that I did. I worked for over two hours on today's nails which I HATE!
It is a good design but it looks like hell. I did two colors on each of my nails, in sort of a color blocking style. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple (violet).

All of the colors I used were LA Colors Art Deco, these things can be found at the dollar store. I would never spend more than $1 on them unless it was a color that I have never seen before, which there are colors that you can't get at the dollar store.

Now that I am a little bit frustrated with the design I am going to take this off and prep my nails for tomorrow. Ohh today is grooming day.

Enjoy yourself

31 Day Challenge Day 3

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Whooohoo day 3 which is Yellow day! I love yellow to death. It is my favorite color but someone has told me that yellow is one of the most angering colors in the world. I am not sure on that. HAHA!!!
On my nails I have two colors yet again. I have Sinful Colors Unicorn on my ring and index fingers. Then on my pinkie, middle finger, and thumb I have Color Club Get Your Lem-On. Over that I put INM Northern Lights shaken up which just gives it a cutesy and pulled together look.

That's all today folks LOL.

Enjoy yourself

My Most Worn Nail Polish- Summer 2011

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I know I should have put this post in the beginning of summer but I wasn't blogging then. I would like to show you the polishes that I wore the most this summer. There are only 5 surprisingly.

On my thumb I have Sally's Girl Surf's Up (812047), Surf's Up is a green blue color  so a  teal/ turquoise. It is a cream finish very shiny when dry. These polishes can be found at Sally's Beauty Supplies and are only $.99 for a .15 fl oz. I don't like the price for the size, maybe if they made a polish .5fl. oz. for $3 I would buy it. I definitely am going to be repurchasing this color sometime soon.

On my index finger I have China Glaze's Secret Peri-Wink-Le, Secret Peri-Wink-Le is a purple blue color so a periwinkle, how clever is that? This polish is also a cream finish. I have found this polish at Sally's, Ulta, and online for around $3-$8 for a .5 fl. oz.  I am going to buy a backup but not right now, maybe when the bottle gets to half way. Has anyone else noticed that when China Glaze's settle the bottles look really weird even after being mixed up?

On my middle finger I have China Glaze's For Audrey, For Audrey is a minty green blue color which is supposed to represent the Tiffany's box. Again it is a cream finish and it does the settling thing that I don't like. This was my second bottle of China Glaze, my first was Sexy in the City and rarely wear it, maybe in the winter I will. I am going to be repurchasing for a long time.

On my ring finger I have Essence Lime Up!, Lime Up! is a yellow based lime green. It is also a cream finish. This polish can be found for $.99 at Ultas, or if you live in the UK wherever you can find them. You get .16 fl. oz. which is a tad bit better than the Sally's Girl polish, I really like both though.

Finally on my pinkie I have Sinful Colors Unicorn, Unicorn is a bright pastel yellow. I didn't take this into account that all of my choices were a cream finish, this one is as well. It also settles and makes weird lines on the bottle. This polish can be found at a lot of drugstores/ grocery stores for around $1.99 but can be found at Walgreens on sale for $.99 a lot of the time, or my Fred Meyer is doing a buy one at $1.99 and get on for $.99. This polish is a .5 fl. oz. like most nail polishes, I don't know if I will repurchase because of the application. This polish can actually be substituted with Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow.

Well that is about it I wish I would have worn more of my own fingernail polish this summer but with being at my sisters and all it was kind of difficult.

Enjoy yourself

30 Untrieds Day 1

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Today is day one of my 30 Days of Untrieds. I am excited for this whole month because I am going to be wearing polishes that I have never even worn, some new, old, and gifts.
Today I have a brand new polish that I haven't even done a haul on. This is a vibrant yellow, more like a highlighter. I decided to wear this color now because I would feel a little awkward wearing a bright yellow polish further into September.
Today's color is Get Your Lem-On by Color Club. I actually got this nail polish Tuesday at my local Fred Meyer for around $2 which is a steal for Color Club.
Get Your Lem-On is from the Wicked Sweet Collection, all of the colors from the collection are actually scented and are a vibrant neon color. The color is a vibrant yellow color with a green flash. The shimmer makes the color look lime green in the sunlight. When I first bought this color I said neon, shimmer, and scented?!?! I hit the jackpot. The scent to this is lemony but it is really different, I am not sure how to describe it. I love it though.Even with a top caot the smell still lingers. I don't really get the point of scented polish unless you have your fingers up your nose
This is 2 coats over a white-ish base (Pink Whisper by Orly) and even still it could have used one more coat. I should have used a white rather than an off white. I can tell you one thing right now, this polish really doesn't like my camera. I had the biggest troubles photographing this polish. Neons and cameras don't mesh well.

Well that about sums it up for the first day of my 30 Days of Untrieds. I may add some shatter to this. I think it would look pretty cool.
Enjoy yourself

Nail of the Day Dainty Dots.

Today was just one of those days that I just really didn't want to do anything with my nails. I am not sure why this happened. I guess I am just in a slump.
I really wanted to get out of this slump so I painted my nails with Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow. Yes YELLOW. Why? Well it just so happens that yellow is one of my favorite colors and it simply makes me happy.

I just recently reviewed this polish which I will post below because I have yet to find out how to hyperlink? I believe that is the word I am look for. Shrugs...

What I did.
With a tooth pick I took an opposing color in this case purple and I dotted little dots on the bottom corner away from the thumb and on the thumb facing the opposing way.

What I used
Beauty Secrets Base Coat
4 Yes 4... Coats of Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow. Could have used one more coat.
Ulta Professions Nail Polish in Downtown Diva (Me lol just kidding)
INM Northern Lights (not shaken up)

Like my new watermark? Thanks for reading <3

Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow

Something about summer and yellow nail polishes. This is my second yellow added to my collection and I am sure there will be a lot more once the fall season starts (sales and such).

I got Art Nouv-Yellow when Sally's was having their buy three Finger Paints, get one free. I knew I had to have it. I saw it on the display and it was the first one I picked up. Absolute joy.
Art Nouv-Yellow is a very vibrant but muted yellow, it also has a very light silver sheen to it. The formula isn't too thick like some yellows. This polish is sheer so I advise putting a white base before painting your nails, or you will end up with patches and uneven parts in the polish. This is 4 coats sadly and even then I am still a tad bit patchy. Sigh...

NOTE yellow polish has a very likely to bubble. I suggest waiting 5 minutes before applying another coat.
Finger Paints can be found at Sally's or www.FingerPaints.com for around $5-$6. I love how their polishes are usually named after art, just found that to be a cute little quirk.

Enjoy yourself
