31 Day Challenge Day 18

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I haven't ever done half moon's before today, I don't really like how mine came out but I am sure with a little bit of practice I could make mine look better. I should get some of those paper hole supports sticker things as a guide, I am sure I can find those at the dollar store.

I had Sally Hansen's Eel Skin still sitting out from when I did my tribal nails so I just used that as my base color this time. Then I went in with China Glaze's Skyscraper. Yeah a glitter which is a cool mix. I like how the glitter makes the grey look like it is in the background. I was actually going to do little crystals along the smile of the half moon so it looked a little cleaner but I didn't have a good color match for the glitter. I thought about light blue crystals.

I hope you like this, if you do show your support by following :)

31 Day Challenge Day 17

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I have a lot of glitters to chose from so that made today very easy for me. I actually used multiple nail polishes for today. Glitter is a really nice way to spice up any nail look.

For the base color I used my new Orly Rock Solid which has holographic glitter in it. Then I added a layer of Sally's Girl Way 2 Disco which is a duo chrome type glitter that shines blue, purple, and green (the way to find the colors of these polishes is to go onto Sallys Beauty website and type the numbers that come with the color into the search bar). Then I added a layer of China Glaze's Fairy Dust, I have to thin this polish almost every time I use it I am sure I am not the only one. China Glaze nail polishes become thick very quick. Finally I added a layer of INM Northern Lights (shaken) which is similar to Fairy Dust so I really didn't need this step but I wanted so much glitter.

Ugh this is going to be a pain in the ass to take off but really worth it. See the blurred picture for the sparkle.

If you like this be sure to show your support by following me.

Enjoy yourself

Halloween Challenge Saturday

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Spider Saturday. Sad thing is that I am going to have to take this off before tonight because I have a Halloween Party to go to and it is costume only. Remember I will show you what I am going to be on Halloween and that will be makeup and nails maybe even outfit if I am feeling dangerous enough.
I just did spiders and webs today but I am not sure that you can see the spiders but they are there. I used Wet N' Wilds Behind Closed Doors and grey acrylic paint.

I hope you liked it.

Enjoy yourself

Small Haul

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Yesterday I went to Sally's deciding to break some cash, bad idea haha! I had my eye on a few  things and some where impulse buys.

The big thing that I wanted was Seche Vite, now I know there is a controversy over Seche and I am fully aware of the side effects.  But that SHINE! It is better than anything I have ever seen before, INM, Poshe, anything.

I bought The Seche Support Awareness set which has the Seche Vite, China Glaze Go Go Pink which I actually adore, and a little angle key ring. I love buying things for breast cancer awareness because they are so cute and girly. This set cost me $8.99 which I have seen Seche go for that much alone so getting the other two free is a good deal.

Next is Orly's Rock Solid, now I wouldn't have bought this if I would have remembered the price tag. I don't like the price of them. I think it was around $7 or $8. I am glad I did though because it is like China Glazes Fairy Dust on crack.

Then I needed another base coat because mine is almost out and starting to get a little thicker than I had hoped it would be.  The one I normally get is Beauty Secrets Base Coat. I like their new packaging, the old packaging pissed me off a lot.

Lastly I picked up some glitter because of my Halloween costume. It is the Sally's Girl Glitter in Gleaming Green, which is a neon green colored glitter that shines to be yellow and green. You will see how I used it in my post when I post it.

With a recent decision I may be getting my babysitting job back which would make me employed full time and that would mean that I would bring in a full income which means that I would be more inclined to make more hauls and keep up with nail collections. Like I would love to do. I need to get a better storage system for my polishes because as of right now I am in two plastic shoe boxes and an overflow into a basket which is filled to the top and all of my polishes are set sideways in this basket.  I am thinking the Melmer from Michael's or even looking around at some different stores like Bed Bath and Beyond. Maybe you can tell me some storage ideas.

Enjoy yourself

Halloween Challenge Wednesday

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Happy Witches Poison Wednesday, I didn't actually know what to do today... I remembered that I had previously did a witch earlier in October. Why not do her poison?  On my pinkie, middle, and index fingers is her poison. On my thumb and ring finger is cross bones and a skull.

I used Color Club Yum Gum, Raspberry Rush, and Gimme A Grape Big Kiss for the gradient and art work. Then the little black dots are Tangled In My Web by Wet N' Wild, I picked the glitter out and placed it where I wanted.

That is all for today :) Sorry it looks so nasty around my cuticles this cold air got to me today and I was in a rush.

Enjoy yourself

Revlon Glitters.

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Revlon released these in August and ever since they have become the in thing right now. There are three of these glitters and initially I was only going to buy two out of the three. There is 051 Starry Pink, 934 Blue Mosaic, and 940 Facets Of Fuchsia, now I am not 100% sure why they jump around in numbering but it is an interesting aspect. I was thinking that these may have been toned down since it is in the fall time that they released these but surprisingly they are bright with the exception of Facets of Fuchsia.

Starry Pink is a baby pink almost on the lilac side. It is very murky or dusty. The glitter is a silver glitter that is a mix between small circular glitter and larger hexagonal glitter. The only sad thing is with the murky base the glitters kind of get lost, it is hard to find them.

Blue Mosaic is clear base with different colored glitter. There is light blue, small, round glitters, Big hexagonal silver, baby blue, and green glitters. This one is very unique. Since it is in a clear base I recommend using it over something else. Although you can layer tons of coats to achieve opaqueness with this alone. It is my favorite out of the bunch.

Lastly Facets Of Fuchsia and the most widely talked about. This is a black based jelly with bright fuchsia glitter. The glitter is actually small round glitters and larger hexagonal glitters. This is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance which is based off of Lady Gaga's song. I would love to say this is my favorite because of it's diverseness but I find it to be kind of bland. LOL I am not sure how to describe it.

The best place to buy these would be at Target because the price tag is fairly cheaper there at $3.79. Also with Target you can always find coupons. I actually purchased mine at Ulta when they were having their buy two get one free deal going on, plus I had a $5 off of a $10 purchase together I purchased all of the glitters for $5. Got to be smart when shopping.

Do you have these polishes, Do you plan on getting them, What is your favorite(s)?

Stay tuned for my up coming series for Halloween, it will be different and kind of a cute idea. :D

Sorry for my crummy pictures, I like to take them during the day when the sun is out but the sun really hasn't been out much were I live.

Enjoy yourself

Nail Mail Round 3 and Haul

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I wanted to do two separate posts to show case the different polishes I picked up. I worked today and got $20 so I figured why not? I also was sent something from SamBeauty for winning OlivaMakeupChannels giveaway, she has a blog and a youtube.

In the mail I received 10, 2012 Max Makeup by Cherimoya Cracked nail polishes, all random. I think whoever packed this really must have loved pinks and purples because that is the bulk of what I got. I may add some of these into my first giveaway which I might do around 150-200 followers ( I have a ways to go )

-Eternity (black)
-Innocence (white)
-Genesis (darker purple)
-Apostles (lighter purple more neon)
-Fault Line (dark red)
-Medusa (shimmery lighter red)
-Memories (a medium pink/red)
-Extinction (a brown pinky color)
-Pandemic (nude ish pink)
-Purgatory (baby pink)

Lastly I went back to my Fred Meyer to see if they still had any of the On The Prowl collection, they did. I also got more clearance items <3

-Buy Me A Drink by Wet N' Wild
-Jungle Fever by Wet N' Wild
-Yum Gum by Color Club
-Glitter Envy by Color Club

I think I am going to go to Ulta because tomorrow they start their buy two get one free on their Revlon (Maybelline, Almay, Rimmel, and La Splash)  and it seems as if the new glitters will be there. Also Ulta brand polishes are 2 for $6, Pixels are 2 for $4, OPI has buy two get a top coat or base coat free, and Butter London is buy 2 get one free! Good Sales!!!

30 Untrieds Day 29

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I found some feathers around the house today and figured I would incorporate something into nail art. Sadly it didn't come out the way I planned. My coats I think were a little too thick. I am not sure. They all can't be winners.

For the base I used Sinful Colors's Queen of Beauty which is a silver glitter. Very chunky glitter. It's going to be a five letter word to get off tomorrow morning.
Very affordable at $1.99 at Walgreens and other drugstores.

Then I just went in with some feathers. I actually don't mind how they came out I just wish the nail polishes weren't so thick.

It gooped up and when I was doing laundry, Oh how I love my laundry days! I got my fingers all messed up.

Enjoy yourself

30 Untrieds Day 26

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Today was a 3 polish type of day... We will see if I get through all of my untrieds.  If not I will post a list of polish I haven't tried yet on my closing of 30 Untrieds which I plan on posting on the 30th of this month... 4 more days.

OPI's A-Taupe The Space Needle is a brown grey-ish color. Goes on opaque, at least for me. It also has those veins that the other OPI's that I have recently been sent. I don't know if it is because they are directly from the company or if their formula is different compared to the other polishes I have. It doesn't effect how the nail polish goes on just looks odd.

OPI Honk If You Love OPI is an almost eggplant purple. I had to apply two coats on my ring finger. I chose this color because it is in the same family as ATSN.  Again same as the other one.

You can find those two nail polishes in various locations that sells OPI, for around $8.50 but can some times be found on sale.

Lastly is Wet N' Wild's Tangled in My Web which is a black glitter. Very sparse I may say, you really have to layer it on to get the glitter on. Or just pat the side of the brush on your nail. This polish is apart of their On The Prowl Collection which is out for Halloween. Can be found at multiple drugstores for around $2.

Sorry for being so late tonight.... I hate posting later. I have been napping all day because I think I am coming down with a cold.

Enjoy yourself

30 Untrieds Day 25

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I woke up to a lovely surprise this morning which I will share with you very soon, next post I promise.

Today I did a jelly sandwich with 3 nail polishes. I like it!!!

First was a base of Color Club's Gimme A Grape Big Kiss which is a neon purple. Cream finish, very sheer like the rest of the Wicked Sweet Collection ( I need three more and the collection is complete). Scented like Grapes... Yummy. It is opaque in three coats which is great considering the other Lemon and Lime are sheer and are opaque in four or five. It has a jelly look to it once dried.

Next I applied a coat of Wet N' Wild's Correction Tape from the On The Prowl Collection. This is similar to Party Of Five Glitters only it is pink, blue, silver, and black multi shaped glitter. The glitter is kind of sparse. I would like it if there was more glitter that stayed on your finger after each swipe.

Finally I finished it with a coat of Color Club's Raspberry Rush which is a reddened pink.  It is like Gimme A Grape Big Kiss in the sense of opaqueness and finishes. It is scented to be Raspberry. I love these scented nail polishes from Color Club... I had so much trouble finding inspiration for nail art, I took these on and off all day. I smelt it all day... I love them to death <3

I bought the two Color Clubs for $1.59 each and the Wet N' Wild for $1.50 at my Fred Meyer. Clearance bins are my best friend <3.

Small Haul

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,

Yesterday when shopping for food, I ran across the On The Prowl collection from Wet N' Wild. I begged my boyfriend for $10, which it didn't even come to :P LOL. I got 6 nail polishes, 4 from the On The Prowl collection and 2 from the Wicked Sweet collection.
I got
-Correction Tape
-Tangled in My Web
-Behind Closed Doors
-Cougar Attack
-Raspberry Rush
-Gimme a Grape Big Kiss

I love the new glitters from Wet N' Wild, they are great. Too bad they are limited edition, GET THEM WHILE YOU CAN!!! I picked mine up from Fred Meyers at 2 for $3.

Correction Tape is similar to Party Of Five Glitters, only CT has pink, blue, silver and black hex, square, and circular glitters, whereas POFG is red, pink, green, and silver glitters.

Tangled In My Web is a clear based polish with black hex glitters.

Behind Closed Doors is a black based polish with bright red glitter. Small round glitter and larger hex.

Cougar Attack is a brown based polish jam packed with orange glitter.

The Wicked Sweet collection was released in the summer and since then my Fred Meyer's had decided to mark the prices down to $1.59 which is an amazing $7.41 mark down. I will surely be going back for more. I have a stash at Fred Meyers hidden with nail polish just for me LOL, no one will ever know well not unless you live near me... Shh.

Raspberry Rush is a pink-y magenta. Cream finish of course. Scented like raspberries.

Gimme a Grape Big Kiss is a purple, more of a neon. Cream again. Scented like you guessed it... grape.

I would like to get more Halloween nail colors especially from Sally's... That would make my day. I need a job to be able to do that first.

BE sure to check Fred Meyers for the On The Prowl collection they also have the cute little pumpkins and other Wet N' Wild limited edition products. Like I have said in the past, they mark the products down tremendously.

30 Untrieds Day 21 Pink Wednesday

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
If you put your mind to do something, do it. You will never be more proud of yourself. I made a pact with myself that I would continue with the Pink Wednesday and for that matter, the 30 Untrieds. If you asked me a few years ago if I would be blogging about nails I would have told you no and I wouldn't have been very pretty about it. See all my life I have been the tom boy, I had nothing to do with girly stuff. I am not sure what changed my mind but one day I stopped biting my nails, started wearing makeup, and putting girly clothes on. It has made a big difference in my life. Am I upset about my past... No because without that I wouldn't be the girl sitting here blogging about her nail polish, her passion.
As for today I thought that this would be a fitting match since the summer is turning to fall. Oh I can't wait. I dread Winter, Love Spring and Fall, and have a love hate relationship with Summer.

Sally Hansen Pink Boa is a very bright frosty pink with a blue sheen to it. It is opaque in two coats. You can see the nail line just a tiny bit in the sun which I don't mind because it is only in the sun.  These polishes can be found anywhere for around $1.75-$2.50.

Revlon Facets Of Fuchsia is a black based polish with bright pink glitters. Small round glitter and larger hexagonal glitter. I would say for the black to be 100% opaque I would do 2 coats. I found this polish at Target for $3.74 I wanted to get its sisters as well, maybe I will go back before the end of the fall and get the other two. I have a $1 off coupon that I can use. Maybe I will be able to find it at WalMart. I put this at the tips of my nails and sponged it up to about 35% of my nail and then I started picking the hex glitters out of the polish and randomly placed them everywhere.

Sally Hansen Pink-y Ring was apart of the spring/summer collection. It is a clear based nail polish with the same little round, bright pink glitters that are found in Revlon's Facets Of Fuchsia. If I ever want more glitter to FOF I will add this over the top. This time it is just to blend all of the polishes together. Same as above these polishes are found most places and the same price as stated before.

Phew that is a lot of talking, thanks for reading.
Enjoy yourself

30 Untrieds Day 19

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I can't believe that I haven't worn this yet. After spending $10 on it I should have already. Normally I wouldn't spend so much on a polish but I was buying two things and I had a $5 off coupon to Ulta. My facial scrub would have cost $10 and this would have cost me $10 so I figure I got $5 off of the nail polish making it the regular price for Orly.
Man I wish I had a job this would make buying polishes so much easier. No I wouldn't just buy nail polishes, I have priorities too. Nail Polish is just my passion.

Anyway today I have Orly Halley's Comet on my finga nails. Haha! Halley's Comet is a Teal nail polish with bright grass green glitter, flecks, foils, whatever have you.  It is opaque in three to four coats, unless you apply it over a green or blue base. I smudged one nail and had to redo it, the removal was a pain and I had little grass green sparkles everywhere. Like I said earlier that this polish is $10 and came out with Orly's Cosmic FX collection in early 2011. Orly has recently made a Mineral FX collection which is similar to the Cosmic FX line. I think the Mineral FX colors cost $8.

I absolutely enjoy this color and I am not sure why I didn't include it for my Top Fall Picks for 2011.  I can see me wearing it a lot in the fall. It is such a unique color.

If you can't afford the hefty price tag there are some options for you. There are a few dupes that you can find.
-Zoya Charla
-Jessie's Girl Glee
-Wet N' Wild Teal Of Fortune - Not an exact dupe a little darker and the green isn't so grassy colored.
-Essence Choose Me

30 Untrieds Day 16

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I seriously can't believe I am half way through this, I have got exactly 14 days to go. This is a really good challenge for myself, I can get through this.

Again sorry for posting later in the day but as it gets later in the year here it gets darker, So I wait for the sun to be completely out.

Today I have two nail polishes. I did one color through out my nails and then went in with a glitter accent nail. Classic right?
ELF's Medium Red is a blue based red with a cream finish. It takes two coats for the polish to be opaque. This one isn't like it's sister (Coral--Day 7), I don't mind this color or the polish. In fact the polish applied great, dried in a nice time, and hasn't chipped yet. But it still has the opportunity to chip since the day isn't over. ELF can be found at Target and Eyeslipsface.com for $1.
Wet N' Wild Sparked is a pink-y red glitter, with dark pink, light pink and silver glitter. This glitter could be worn all by itself and could be opaque in one coat. I absolutely love it with the red. I fear this one will chip before the other one. Wet N' Wild can be found almost anywhere for around $.65- $1.

30 Untrieds Day 14 Pink Wednesday

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
What is better than glitter bomb? A pink glitter bomb. More of a barbie pink.
Color Club's Space Case is from their Starry Temptress collection. It is a bright almost neon (it dries like a neon) pink with multi colored glitter. Holographic glitter I think. This is two coats and it is sort of a jelly type finish but not too much. I must say one thing about this polish, I don't really like that the glitter is not too visible and kind of looks like bumps in the the polish. Don't get me wrong you can tell it is glitter but it looks sort of dirty in my eyes. It also is really hard to clean away from my cuticles.

I need to get more from this collection. I must visit my local Fred Meyer when I have money because they were on sale there for $1.99 which is about the same as a Sinful Colors Nail Polish. I am not sure the regular price of these polishes because I haven't seen them in stores before seeing them on sale. I would like to say maybe $6? Or maybe $8 who knows.

Next month I may do the 30 Day Challenge... Who knows because Halloween is coming and I would love to have like 13 Days of Halloween or something around there. I am a Halloween fanatic. I may even do a tutorial on some Halloween makeup and nails. What is really going to be hard is Pink Wednesday in Halloween territory... I'll figure out something.

Well I am off to go apply for a butt load of jobs. Here is to hoping I get it.

Enjoy yourself

Top 10 Picks For Fall.

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
With my most worn summer nail polishes out the way I figured that I would predict what nail polishes that I would most reach for this fall. I will do an actual post about what ones I did chose the most when fall is coming to an end.
These are in no particular order, some I have tried and some I haven't.

Left
Pinkie- Eel Skin by Sally Hansen
Ring- GR8 by China Glaze
Middle- Savage by Sinful Colors
Index- Forever Young by Essie
Thumb- Don't Mess With OPI by OPI

Right
Thumb- Sexy in the City by China Glaze
Index- Skyscraper by China Glaze
Middle- Beetle by Hard Candy
Ring- Facets of Fuchsia by Revlon
Pinkie- Party of Five Glitters by Wet N' Wild

This is what I predict I could totally be wrong but that is why I am going to post at the end of fall and tell you what polishes where grabbed up the most. It may or may not be the same amount of polishes listed above or it may even be more.

Enjoy yourself

30 Untrieds Day 9

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
Sorry this is a little later in the day. I usually like to get this up sooner but it takes me about 2 hours to get ready in the morning which includes eating, painting my nails, waiting for them to dry, taking pictures, editing the pictures, and then writing the blog about the nails. With taking the pictures I have to make sure the sun is out because I take all of my pictures (now at least) in the light of the sun, I will snap two pictures one in the shade and one in the direct sunlight. I feel that the sun best represents the color. Also my camera doesn't like artificial lights for some weird reason.

I bought this color about a week or two ago and I was eager to try it because it was similar to its sister also from the same collection. This polish and its sister have the most gorgeous scattered holographic micro glitter. I fell in love with the other one so why wouldn't I fall for this one?

Wet N' Wild Blue Wants to Be A Millionaire is a gorgeous medium blue. It is a sheer color so layering is most likely a must unless you are like me who rather capture the true color. This is a glitter polish and the glitters are holographic. When dried this polish has a slight gritty finish which I enjoy so I just leave the polish as is. As for the wear of this polish I am not sure but its sister (Hannah Pinktana) did hold up for a week.

Sorry for the nasty gap between the cuticle and the color I didn't realize how big it looks. Icky.

I think the names for the Wet N' Wild Fast Dry nail polishes are so cute, I bet they aren't the first one to come up with names like these but they sure are cute. I have a few of them, some are good and others are just okay and some really suck like FuchsiaRama.

Jelly Sandwich Thing

Hello Lacquered Lovelies,
I have seen many do what is called a Jelly Sandwich, this is where you take a very sheer nail polish and apply a coat of it and then add a coat of glitter and then put the sheer coat over it again. The glitter is actually sandwiched in the center of the sheer polish. I have seen this done several times with different colors and different polishes.

I decided to give it a go. It came out really well. I like that you can barely see the true colors of the glitter it is all tinted to this red color.

What I did
I applied three coats of my sheer "jelly" polish to my fingers, Then I added one coat of the glitter. Finally I used one more coat of the "jelly" polish to my nails.

What I used
Beauty Secrets Base Coat
OPI Big Hair...Big Nails
Wet N' Wild Party Of Five Glitters
INM Northern Lights (not shaken)

What I used
Beauty Secrets Base Coat
China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-Le
Sinful Colors Hottie on my ring.
Beauty Secrets Top Coat

What I did
2 Coats of CG SP
2 Coats of SC Hottie on my ring finger

Nail of the Day Shocking Voltage.

Another borrowed nail polish from my sister since I am here. I don't really have as many resources here as I do there so I decided to do something simple and something you have all seen before. I love the shine to this my sisters top coat is Beauty Secrets Fast Dry, I may need to get the small version.

What I did
I started with a base of the lighter pink and then once it dried I went in and added the darker"pink" to the tips. I didn't add any stripes this time like I thought I would. I am liking this duo

What I used
-One coat of Beauty Secrets Top coat because she doesn't have a base coat
-Two coats of China Glaze's Pink Voltage
-One coat of China Glaze Purple Panic
-Two coats of Beauty Secrets Top Coat

Yay for my second Pink Wednesday.

Enjoy yourself
